Countries manufacturing Iittala products – a significant portion of Iittala’s products are manufactured at production sites in Finland belonging to Fiskars Group. Glass products are manufactured at the Iittala and Nuutajärvi glass factories, ceramic products at the Arabia ceramics factory, and cookware at the Sorsakoski soup and oven dish factory.

The Iittala and Nuutajärvi glass factories are small series manufacturers specialising in the production of coloured glass. The Nuutajärvi glass factory specialises in the manufacture of art glass. Of these, the most famous are the Birds by Toikka glass birds and art glass cubes by Oiva Toikka. The Nuutajärvi factory also has the option of applying different colours and glass techniques in a range of techniques.

The Arabia factory focuses on ceramic research and development work, as well as the industrial manufacture of selected products. The factory produces white and coloured plates, bowls and pots as well as coloured cups. In addition, the Arabia factory manufactures a selected range of products that are machine decorated, as well as seasonal products such as the Kulku products. A large number of Teema products are manufactured at the Arabia factory.

The Sorsakoski cookware factory, located in Leppävirta, specialises in the production of coated and non-coated steel and aluminium cookware. Among Iittala’s products, all of the All Steel cookware and coated Tools products are manufactured there. There is no cutlery manufacturing in Finland. Fiskars personnel from local sourcing offices and business areas work in close cooperation with our suppliers.

Fiskars requires its partners to commit to principles covering labor and human rights, health and safety, environmental impact, and business ethics. Extensive supplier audits have been carried out since 2009, and audit criteria were updated in 2010 based on the latest trade requirements, international standards, and industry practices. Suppliers are required to follow a code of conduct document, and audits are carried out to verify compliance.
