Season’s details – Tips for floral design

As we prepare for the holiday season here are some tips on how to bring instant holiday cheer by matching dried flowers and branches of evergreens with some of the most loved pieces from the Iittala collection.

Designer Matti Klenell took inspiration for Nappula from a peculiarly shaped table with ‘swollen’ feet at the Iittala Glass Museum. The Nappula plant pot is a fun play on the signature silhouette with its flowing curved design. A modern Nordic design classic that creates maximum impact in any interior. A true inspiration for green displays that allows you to bring a slice of nature inside.
A luscious plant in a Nappula pot makes a lovely holiday gift.

A plate that works for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Glasses for water, juice and wine. Raami (“frame” in Finnish) by Jasper Morrison is a dining collection that features essentials that become a natural part of your life. All framed together by simple, thoughtful design that gives people space to create atmospheres. Moments that allow us to connect with what’s truly important—family, friends, nature and ourselves.

Aalto vase with ornaments

Taking inspiration from the natural beauty of his native Finland, design legend Alvar Aalto created iconic home design pieces that are functional and sculptural. In the decades since premiering at the 1937 Paris World Fair, Aalto’s flowing wave (“aalto” in Finnish) shape has become a timeless symbol of Nordic design.
