Iittala celebrates his creativity with the launch of new home textiles, a part of The Curious Mind of Oiva Toikka lifestyle series. Inspired by Toikka’s drawings, the new Oiva Toikka Collection blanket’s playful camel brown cheetah print brings vibrant textile art to a living room, bedroom or office. A lovely throw draped across a sofa or a bed, the soft blanket is made of wool (80%) and polyamide (20%). Adds texture and warmth to any space. Oiva Toikka

 

Oiva Toikka (1931-2019) is one of the great personas of Finnish glass design. His imaginative, rich and bold glass art is a departure from mainstream Nordic design. Toikka’s individual style is also evident in the utility objects he creates as they often deviate from the traditional clean-lined puritanism of Finnish design aesthetics. In addition to glass, his artistic activities cover staging, fashion design and plastic interior design elements.

Toikka has designed a range of home products for Iittala with his Annual Cube, Birds by Toikka, Frutta, Flora, Kastehelmi, Oiva Toikka Collection and Tundra Collections.
