Taika is one of Iittala’s most beloved collections. Klaus Haapaniemi’s imaginative illustrations come alive with a mix of Finnish folklore, Slavic animation and Japanese etchings. This year, Taika expands with new home textiles. Taika bed linen is made of high quality cotton in elegant grey that adds peaceful calm to any interior. Wash inside out with similar colours at 60°. Tumble dry 60°. Iron at 150° maximum. Do not dry clean. 100% cotton, 150 thread count. Recommended washing before use. Shrinkage max. 5%. Please note that bed linens are Finnish and Swedish sizes. Single duvet cover 150 x 210 cm and one pillowcase 50 x 60 cm.
Designer Klaus Haapaniemi’s Taika (meaning “magic” in Finnish) inspires imagination and storytelling, letting you choose from a variety of bold and enchanting pieces. The vibrant designs gradually reveal their details and layers to the viewer. Haapaniemi’s magic was combined with the shapes of the Aika series designed by Heikki Orvola.

Klaus Haapaniemi (b.1970) is an internationally recognized London-based Finnish designer. In 2010, he founded the Klaus Haapaniemi artisanal design and lifestyle brand with Mia Wallenius. Their design approach is influenced by nature, Finnish folklore and traditional decorative arts with a modern twist. Inspiration comes from a rich selection of cultural references including the worlds of art, ballet, music and storytelling. Haapaniemi’s design experience includes many major brands including Levi’s, Diesel and Dolce & Gabbana. He has been recognized as one of the most important rising stars in design by the WGSN’s trend forecast. In 2015, Haapaniemi designed the piece Cunning Little Vixen for the Finnish National Opera which inspired the Tanssi collection for Iittala.
His sense of whimsy and magic is illustrated in Iittala’s classic Taika, Taika Sato and Vulpes Collections.
