Teema Rose & Teema Vintage Rose – What’s the difference?

Teema welcomes a new continuous color: Rose.

Alongside it, Teema Vintage Rose continues as a beloved variation inspired by classic ceramic design. While the two shades are closely related, they feature different glaze finishes that give each its own unique character.

Why are there two Rose shades?

Teema Vintage Rose is inspired by 1950s ceramic glazing and features a beautifully translucent finish with lighter edges and natural color variation. This glaze brings depth and a handcrafted feel to each piece.

Teema Rose, on the other hand, features a newer, more opaque glaze. This finish has a more even appearance and is especially well suited for larger plates.

To help distinguish between these two glaze styles, the translucent version is called Vintage Rose, while Rose refers to the opaque finish. Both finishes are designed to complement each other beautifully—giving you the freedom to combine pieces and create a table setting full of warmth, character, and timeless style.

Why does Vintage Rose vary in color?

The lively, slightly varied look of Teema Vintage Rose is intentional. Its translucent glaze allows the color to appear softer at the edges and richer in other areas. Subtle variations can also occur between production batches, which is a natural and desirable quality of this type of glaze.

This same kind of translucency can also be found in other Teema vintage colors, such as Vintage Blue and Vintage Brown, all inspired by early ceramic designs.
